Ken Fernandez – Representing Buyers & Sellers On
The Highlands – Cashiers Plateau Since 2003
Ken Fernandez arrived in Cashiers in 2003 and soon realized that he wanted a career in Real Estate. He says it’s easy to sell something you love, and he loves the many beautiful homes and landscapes of Western North Carolina. In a single day a busy real estate broker in Western North Carolina might show a house on Lake Glenville, property on Horse Pasture River, and an estate in one of Cashiers or Highlands’ world class country club communities. Helping homebuyers find the right property or working with the local business community to develop new neighborhoods and open new businesses is what Ken is most passionate about.
Before joining Old Cashiers Realty, Ken founded Buyer’s Only Real Estate and earned the designation of Accredited Buyer’s Broker (ABR) from the National Association of Realtors (NAR.) Ken Fernandez has a well-earned reputation for successfully representing buyers, many of whom return to him when they decide to list a property. Ken’s keen insight into the buyers’ sensibilities is a great asset to his sellers looking for advice about how to best market their home or property to maximize its appeal and minimize the time spent as an active listing.
Ken Fernandez’ high energy approach to the real estate market led to an invitation to join the board of the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce. He served as President for three years (2011 – 2013) during which time he recruited Stephanie Edwards as Executive Director and watched membership almost quadruple. He sees the Chamber as especially important in an unincorporated community like Cashiers to provide long range planning for the area and promotion of local businesses.
Ken remains active in the Chamber and continues to serve on their board. He is an expert about development on the Highlands – Cashiers Plateau and an advocate for well-planned economic growth.
